Yeah don't listen to HN dorks. Unless youve handwritten the code using Mayan virgin blood on papyrus scrolls they will complain.

Dude didn't even harvest the quill himself. Back in my day you had to track a bird for hours just praying they'd drop a feather so you didn't have to actually catch the thing. Of course, the Smith family had a bow, so you'd maybe borrow a bow but then you were praying you didn't lose or break the arrow because then you're out the labor for the quill you didn't get AND the arrow!

I tried it for these purposes and it didn't seem any better. I couldn't even tell it was a new model. I tested today, I'm an EU customer so maybe the rollout is delayed

as someone who enjoys talking to strangers, while it is less common in some countries like China, and big cities in most countries, people tend to react mostly the same.

If labour supply is fixed and productivity goes up then the value and demand for labour goes up, driving up wages

Why would demand for labor rise if productivity rises?

SpaceX have launched more rockets than NASA, ESA, Russia, China, and every other organisation in the world ever, combined. They offer super fast internet almost anywhere on the globe through Starlink.

The Model Y has been the best selling car in the world for the past 3 years, partly due to the fact that it has by far the best self-driving.

Xai built the largest AI training cluster in the world in 4 months, then doubled it in 3 months.

All of this would be impressive for one person to do. He is doing all of this at the same time. He is by far the greatest founder of his generation and it's not even close. Everyone who says otherwise is out of touch with reality and should not be trusted.

You are correct. He is the greatest founder of all time. That much is true.

He is also a prolific liar. He massively exaggerates his technical contributions. He uses his wealth to persecute his perceived ideological enemies. Quite a few of his failures are outright fraud. He's also racist as f**.

I give him credit for having backed some winners, some of which were not at all obvious. But in many ways he has also been lucky rather than smart -- most notably Paypal, which is the one that made him rich. He has had massive failures that would have let him out of being able to make any more investments, were it not for the fact that he had made one massive fortune already.

No that's called trade you clown

Invading a country, changing its government and forcing favorable trade deals under a threat of a military intervention is "trade"? What is colonialism then?

Ok so all trade between US and Venezuela is colonialism? Clown

Great idea, and really good job on the website. Can't use it myself as I'm not in America but I'm sure it's great.

Please ignore most of the people on hacker ews, most of them are losers who complain about everything.

Hah! Thanks. We plan to roll out in other markets. Stay tuned! I appreciate the compliment on the website.

Really nice, I will buy now and test out. How did you make the video on your website? And are you based in UK?

Thanks for the support. The videos are Vue components with CSS animations. As mentioned in a previous reply I’m happy to share the component if it’s of interest.

Yep, based in Sheffield, UK.

$2m is the standard seed round nowadays which is what he was as referencing. Anybody who has a good idea and can convince investors can raise this, hence how the new AI founders became billionaires without having $2m of their own.

I don't think they hid the point that he was issued stock? I thought it was pretty obvious? Which is why they're talking about it now, because the value of those stocks shot up because they went public

Yet they keep talking about an emphasizing how he was a hardworking welder first when, frankly, it’s borderline irrelevant to his being a millionaire.

The thumbnails often just tell the welder story, for instance. It’s very clever (misleading).

Yes! What's wild is that the story is a microcosm of what's wrong with the economy as a whole, where his work was worthless in comparison to his winning lottery ticket, which itself was (charitably) 10% due to SpaceX achieving its original mission and 90% due to investor optimism about AI datacenters in space.
