Yawn, you gave a lot of praise but said a whole bunch of nothing substantively.
I work with LLMs daily and recognize the value (for me, it’s speeding up SW development) but I’ve heard the same old song for the past 3 years. It’s getting played out. “But this next thing though! This next thing!”.
Will you say the same thing when the next frontier model releases?
These resets also reset your weekly timer right. So it’s like, you may have 30% left for 1 days that you want to use. They reset it, and that means you your “new week” timer starts today.
That sucks, because it doesn’t always work in your favour if you plan your weekly spend.
I think a real reset shouldn’t also reset your week timer.
Yes, I was saving my 95% usage for the last day. Then they reset it. Now I have lost 95% usage!! Im back to 7 days and got locked in at only 5% usage for the week - that's actually theft.
Agreed. But they also hand out the usage resets you can use at will, so if you bank couple of those, they come in handy specifically in situations like you described.
This is a weird metaphor - why do you think people buy matcha at coffeeshops or use peptides? Those two things don't have anything obvious to do with each other, let alone with Omarchy.
I think OpenAI’s does not have ANY moat. They are currently a leader but lack the piles of cash required to stay a leader in the medium/long-term. (They can not in anyway compete with AWS/Alphabet on that front, and they know that too.)
Researchers and engineer will want big comp, as they can get it elsewhere, if you stop paying that, then you loose the knowledge necessary to stay a leader, even though it’s a losing race in the long-term anyway.
The company will become a growing pile of non-SOTA techniques and models + old hardware in no time.
