Why? There are a lot of colas around the world.

Whom they often sue. 100% they would would consider the logo/branding/bottle infringing if they were a competing product.

Sue for using “cola” in the product name? Citation most definitely needed.

Is that what I said?

Fallout 4 parodies the potential legal issue itself in one of its loading screens:

Nuka-Cola's signature rocket-shaped bottle replaced the traditional curved bottle when a rival corporation successfully sued for patent infringement. Fortunately, the public saw the new bottle as an improvement and Nuka-Cola's sales increased.

Would be great if americans actually cared about those issues instead of complaining online all the time.

No. The US is a sovreign nation. Noone "made" them act like that, they did this all by themselves and now thy try to shrug the responsibility.

I don’t think the US is a sovereign nation. No one wanted this war but we did it anyway. Our politicians are all bribed and blackmailed by Israel.

> No one wanted this war but we did it anyway.

You know the big old orange guy in the White House? He did it.

... Like, come on now. What do you think, Israel is blackmailing him? He is unblackmailable; most of the country hates him, and his supporters would not be put off by any conceivable misbehaviour or perversion (if that Russian piss tape ever comes out, do you really think it will change anyone's vote, say?) It's like the tariffs; he did it because he has a bunch of idiosyncratic ideas about the world and doesn't listen to expert advice.

The big orange guy is a core Jeffery Epstein person and sure enough he's doing exactly what Israel wants. He's absolutely being blackmailed. He's also not alone, most of our government is either being bribed or blackmailed by Israel. Which is why Trump and Biden have identical policies when it comes to Palestine and why Chuck Schumer was calling to attack Iran before Trump did and why Hakeem Jefferies just appointed an extreme warhawk to head Middle East policy in congress.

I think a great many Democrats could have warned you this type of war was not only possible but likely under Trump. People made an active, conscious decision to vote for him or to not vote. No one to blame but themselves for this, they got what they voted for (yup non-voters also share the blame, no one can feign ignorance on Donald Trump or the Republican party). Not that it matters, the rest of us get to suffer the consequences right along with them.

Democrats are equally enthusiastic about attacking Iran. Just listen to Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton. It was also Biden who started the Gaza genocide with Israel. That’s the point, the American government is 100% captured by Zionists. There’s no voting your way out of it.

And who votes for those politicans?

People who aren't given a choice to vote for anyone else. I personally do not vote for this reason.

You know that societal change is not a force of nature that just happens to us?

Your president is threatening the whole world and all you "freedom-loving" americans manage to do is shrugging with the shoulders. A nation of spineless hypocrites.

Every president of the US has done that and believe me I’m doing more than shrugging my shoulders. I would love to see this country dissolved.

> Every president of the US has done that...

Are you living under a rock? Which president threatened its NATO allies with an all out war?

Our NATO allies have committed mass murder for centuries. I don't care at all about NATO, I care about murdering innocent people and every president has absolutely done that. Even in the 20th and 21st century the US killed millions: Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Iran, Lebanon...

No US president I'm aware of has ever antagonized all their allies and threatened the world nearly as much or as often as Trump has.

Our allies are complicit with us in mass murder across the globe. Our "greatest ally" is literally a terrorist entity killing children to this day.

Every president has been guilty, but if you want to look for some of the worst in terms of sheer death, I'd go for the Bushes and LBJ.

If you use your bike for 50 miles a year, why do you even need that thing?

I don't. I don't need a bicycle at all.

The only reason most Americans outside NYC and Chicago ride a bike is leisure. Well, that or too many DUIs if we're being honest.

Ideally though if I had something like this it would encourage me to use my bicycle more.

I suspect you underestimate the number of utility cyclists. People on bikes take a lot less space than people on SUVs and pickup trucks, so it is easy to underestimate their numbers.

If you don't need it then why do you write that you are the target group?

If we took the time to count all the things I own that that I actually need, I would be shocked if that number cracked 5% of everything I own. The vast majority of items I own are for fun or labor saving. Often the prior masquerading as the latter.

Need != Target Market. Jet Skis target market isn't water patrol enforcers. It's people wanting to have fun.

Most products don't exist to fill a need but instead want

Do you live in New England? Because any adult I see on a BMX I automatically assume has lost their license. Just wondering if it’s regional.

false dichtonomy

Oh, have they finally started to remove features?

Yes, several even, C++98 or C++11 code will not compile in C++26 mode, depending if some of those feature were being used.

Exception specifications, auto_ptr, C++11 GC, the way volatile works, uninitialised variables,...

But that is still better than getting a table with typed columns that have been used like ANY columns.

Which european dictatorship left their country better off?

"Better off" is too vague a criterion because it suggests some comparison with a counter-factual hypothetical. Instead, I think it's important to observe that the modern organs of state, rule of law, etc., were developed under (pre-constitutional) monarchs and dictators in most western European countries. For example in Germany, much of the bureaucracy was developed by the Prussians and the court system was developed under the Kaiser. Germany's 1949 Basic Law did not create a state from scratch, but instead largely subjected pre-existing institutions to democratic rule.

Yeah, Frederick the Great is the closest thing I can think of to a European analogue to Lee Kwan Yew. Maybe Napoleon to a lesser extent.

Franco, at least in the sense of GDP per capita indicators and escaping WW2.

The UK for one. By the time it became a democracy, it was already stable, peaceful and the wealthiest country per capita that had ever existed.

It was a narrow miss. There was a time the crown wanted everyone farming cotton, but entrepreneurs pitched arbitrage instead.

Do you mean raising sheep for wool? The UK has never grown a significant amount of cotton.

> Which european dictatorship left their country better off?

If monarchs count as dictators, and monarchic states as dictatorship, then almost all economic progress in Europe upto the 1840s

The wikipedia atricle only cites american sources so that may be something unique to how US unions operate.

Cousins of American style bumping is definitely in employment law in the UK(where it is done by the employer instead of the employees and union). It also exists at least in Germany(sozialauswahl) where employees theoretically who could get chopped are given points to determine who to chop, where seniority is one of the ways to gain points, as well as age, as well as having children.

I don't think so in UK.

In UK to make someone redundant (ie fired not for cause) then the job has to be removed and only the holder of that job can be fired and not any other person.

Of course HR departments and consultants are paid to work around this

The rule is called transferred redundancy and it goes like this in the UK: the company can't eliminate a high level position if some argument can be made that they only needed to eliminate a lower level position. So if a company feels it doesn't need a certain VP position, it can't actually get rid of that VP position if there is some argument that the company would only need to get rid of a lower director position. And the director position can't be eliminated if there's some argument that only a lower senior position could be eliminated. And the senior position cannot be eliminated if there's some argument that only a junior position would need to be eliminated.

Is Netanyahu now an official representative of the american government?

No, but neither was Musk, yet DOGE happened. Trump isn't just a malignant sadistic narcissist, he's also a vulnerable senior with dementia that others can exploit.
