Have you considered that perhaps bucketing a whole bunch of unique individuals into a single group may be a big part of the problem?

I mean, if you expect to be irritating to someone before you even meet them, you probably will be kind of irritating.

Try treating each person as unique and not assuming you know what they think before they have even met you?
