I bought Prompt 1 and 2, I have a really hard time convincing myself to get 3. If I did, I’d buy the yearly version since with Panic you’re only going to get 1-3 years worth of updates, if that.
I love Panic. I love Transmit, I used their Usenet client eons ago, I used Coda early in my career, I’ve played Firewatch, and I think the Playmate is neat. I applaud them for the level of polish in their Mac apps.
That said, their iOS apps have a rocky history. Prompt 1 and 2 were both abandoned fairly quickly. Maybe this being subscription-based will change that, and I hope it does.
As a user that recently moved from iTerm to Warp, I’m just now settling in (and loving it). I can see this being interesting when I’m on my iOS devices - then again if Warp made their terminal available as an SSH client like Prompt. I’d probably just go with warp because of the AI help which has just become so useful to me.
