I can't quite put my finger on it but this rush to astroturf Omarchy just has bad vibes all around. DHH has been on a politician-level campaign to fund/promote what seems like a fun nerd project. Call me paranoid but it all just comes across as dubious.
It’s definitely noticeable and he has ties to politically-aligned tech billionaires - for example, when about a third of Basecamp employees resigned, Marc Andressen kept them solvent:
it feels super weird, suddenly everyone on x uses omarchy and talks about how it "revolutionized personal computing". guess 37signals started losing money after dhh's white nationalist tirades.
