Apple's xCode Sucks: Well, it used to (devcodehack.com)

The number of apple ass-kissing in the comments of that article are mind bending...

I was stuck using xcode 3.x a few years ago for 2 weeks or so on a brand new, bought for the purpose of running xcode mac book pro. It crashed 5 or 6 times a day, losing changes on average of once a day. Developer support, Useless... Apple Store "Genuises?", worthless... Rebuild, restore.. Nothing. Thank <Diety of your choice> for macvim.

The laptop was one of the best I've ever seen. It was the best 17inch screen I've seen on a laptop. The IDE was one of the worst, on par with early eclipse.

Above is an article detailing why xCode sucks. In my opinion, it did. It used to really suck, but with xCode 5, iOS app development is much better. Its an overall better environment, if you can get passed developing on such a restricted platform.

Agreed. There were the usual problems with getting used to a new interface layout, but IMO Xcode 5 is a major improvement. It seems faster (I haven't done any metrics though; possibly it's just the more streamlined workflow) and is definitely less crashy.

I'm doing PhoneGap stuff, so the platform restrictions aren't really an issue for me.

I have to agree with you. 6 is MUCH, MUCH better! As far as platform restrictions, I just meant with iOS in general. Its a lot more restricted than other platforms. Ive been doing a lot with PhoneGap on Android, but haven't had any luck on iOS. The problem I run in to the most has to do with archiving and validating.

CORRECTION: Change 6 to 5 in the above comment.
